Hi, I’m Jacqui. I own Bowerbird with Leah, my business partner and friend! We both live in a little neighbouring village called Wandiligong. In fact, we live on the same street and our kids are in the same grades at the same school! Six degrees of separation!! But, we have agreed that neither of us is allowed to move next door!
We first started Bowerbird in 2010, where we leased out a small office space in the Old Post Office building in Bright. Initially, our focus was on Interior Decorating & curtains and blinds. Soon, we realised that Bright really needed a shop that focussed on interiors and more specifically, interiors with an Alpine feel.
So, we decided to make our dream become reality and set up shop on Barnard Street, a lovely little side street in Bright lined with quirky shops! We named our shop “Bowerbird, Unique Alpine Interiors”. We’ve been busy ever since but loving it!
I guess you can say the rest is history…
I grew up in the north east with much gratitude for the beauty of my surroundings. Wandiligong became home to me in 2004 and I have been captivated with the people and its stunning scenery ever since. I met Jacqui because of our same interests in family life and love for our children, this friendship grew to becoming business partners in Bowerbird interior styling. Our unique alpine interiors shop became about for the need of expressing the alpine regions beauty in our everyday living and sharing that love of all things beautiful with those around us. My husband & two children are my biggest fans and we are so grateful to our small community for embracing us in what we do but more importantly encouraging us in providing a need to the region. Jacqui and I have a close friendship and without that I believe our business wouldn’t be going strength to strength as it is.
